Objective(s):
The Radiology Director supports providing strategic and operational leadership of the Radiology Department. The role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality diagnostic imaging services, advances clinical excellence, optimizes imaging resources, and maintains compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. It also drives continuous quality improvement to enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes, aligned with the organization’s vision and healthcare objectives.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Pre-Operational Phase (2026–2027)
– Lead the strategic planning and establishment of Radiology Services to ensure full readiness for hospital opening.
– Design the departmental structure, service delivery model, and staffing plan in alignment with hospital objectives and clinical scope.
– Develop policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks in compliance with accreditation and healthcare standards.
– Plan patient and imaging workflows to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered service delivery.
– Oversee departmental layout design and imaging equipment planning, ensuring compliance with radiation safety and operational requirements.
– Lead the implementation and integration of RIS, PACS, HIS, and ERP systems to support scheduling, reporting, billing, and asset management.
– Develop procurement strategies, technical specifications, and support vendor selection for imaging equipment.
– Establish quality assurance, radiation safety, and regulatory compliance programs prior to operational launch.
– Lead commissioning activities, system testing, and operational readiness simulations (mock drills).
– Recruit, train, and ensure competency of radiology staff prior to go-live.
– Ensure full regulatory, licensing, and accreditation readiness, including all required inspections.
– Coordinate with hospital leadership and clinical departments to ensure seamless integration of radiology services into overall hospital operations.
Post-Opening Phase (2027+)
– Provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for the Radiology Department to ensure delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services aligned with organizational goals.
– Oversee daily radiology operations to ensure efficiency, patient safety, service excellence, and adherence to clinical protocols and standards.
– Develop and implement departmental strategies, policies, and procedures in alignment with the organization’s vision and healthcare objectives.
– Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, radiation safety standards, and international accreditation frameworks (e.g., JCI).
– Design and optimize radiology workflows, patient pathways, and scheduling systems to enhance efficiency, turnaround time, and patient experience.
– Lead implementation and integration of radiology digital systems, including RIS, PACS, and HIS interfaces to support clinical and operational performance.
– Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, procurement, and lifecycle management of imaging equipment to ensure cost-effective operations.
– Ensure proper maintenance, upgrading, and optimal utilization of imaging modalities and radiology technologies.
– Establish and monitor quality assurance programs, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure diagnostic accuracy and service excellence.
– Lead radiation safety programs and ensure strict compliance with protection standards for patients, staff, and visitors.
– Supervise, mentor, and develop radiology staff, ensuring competency development, training, and performance management.
– Ensure accurate, timely, and standardized radiology reporting to support effective clinical decision-making.
– Collaborate with clinical departments and hospital leadership to ensure integrated, multidisciplinary patient care.
– Lead accreditation readiness activities and maintain continuous compliance with healthcare standards.
– Drive innovation and adoption of advanced imaging technologies and best practices to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
– Contribute to hospital-wide strategic initiatives, clinical governance, and service development programs.
– Act as a liaison between KH Radiology and MOH to ensure compliance with health regulations and support collaboration on clinical protocols.
