Senior Structural Engineer – WAS Full Time

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Design

• Lead the structural design and analysis of mining and heavy industrial infrastructure, including:

Process plant structures,

Conveyor systems and transfer stations,

Equipment foundations,

Steel and concrete structures

• Perform calculations, modeling, and analysis using industry software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE).
• Ensure designs comply with relevant international standards and project specifications (e.g., AISC, Eurocodes, AS/NZS).

Project Delivery

• Manage structural deliverables across project phases (concept, FEED, detailed design, execution).
• Review and approve drawings, calculations, and technical documents.
• Coordinate with civil, mechanical, geotechnical, and project teams to ensure integrated solutions.
• Monitor progress, budgets, and schedules to meet project milestones.

Technical Leadership

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate engineers.
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability reviews.
• Solve complex engineering challenges in high-risk or demanding environments.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure alignment on technical requirements.
• Participate in technical meetings, project reviews, and site visits.
• Support proposal development and technical input for bids and tenders.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to Worley’s safety culture and zero-harm policies.
• Apply quality management processes and support audits and design verifications.
• Identify and mitigate safety risks in design (Safe Design principles).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Experienced in structural engineering, preferably within:

Mining,

Resources,

Heavy industrial or infrastructure projects

• Proven experience delivering large-scale construction projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE / Chartered Engineer) status or eligibility preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structural design codes and mining project requirements.
