Infrastructure Project Director Full Time

Job Purpose

The Project Director will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and successful delivery of large-scale roads and infrastructure construction projects across the UAE. The role requires strategic oversight of project execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual, quality, and regulatory requirements. The Project Director will lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage client relationships, and drive operational excellence across all assigned projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Management

• Provide strategic direction and leadership for multiple roads and infrastructure projects from award through completion.
• Ensure successful execution of projects in accordance with contract requirements, budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement project execution plans, resource strategies, and risk mitigation measures.
• Monitor project performance and take corrective actions to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Oversee project planning, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover activities.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, government authorities, and key stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Lead progress meetings, technical discussions, and commercial negotiations with stakeholders.
• Represent the company in meetings with government authorities including municipalities, transport authorities, and utility providers.

Commercial & Contract Management

• Ensure effective management of project budgets, cash flow, cost control, and profitability.
• Review contractual obligations and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage variations, claims, extensions of time, and dispute resolution processes.
• Support the commercial team in project valuations, payments, and final account settlements.

Health, Safety & Quality

• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations and company policies.
• Ensure projects achieve the highest standards of quality and operational excellence.
• Lead investigations and corrective actions related to safety or quality incidents.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineers, and support teams.
• Drive employee development, succession planning, and performance management.
• Foster collaboration and accountability across project teams.

Operational Excellence

• Optimize resource utilization, productivity, and project delivery efficiency.
• Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and governance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration will be an advantage.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, Chartered Engineer, or equivalent will be preferred.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of experience in Roads and Infrastructure construction projects.
• Currently working with a leading Roads & Infrastructure Main Contracting Company in the UAE.
• Proven experience managing large-scale road, highway, bridge, interchanges, utilities, drainage, and infrastructure projects in the UAE.
• Strong understanding of UAE construction regulations, standards, and authority requirements.
• Demonstrated success in delivering high-value infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
• Experience working with government clients and major infrastructure authorities within the UAE.
