QS Engineer (Sheikh Zayed) Full Time

Role Description The QS Engineer (Sheikh Zayed) is a full-time on-site role based in Qesm El Sheikh Zaid, responsible for managing all aspects of quantity surveying and cost control across assigned projects. Daily responsibilities include preparing quantity take-offs, bills of quantities, and cost estimates, as well as tracking project budgets, variations, and payment certificates. The role involves reviewing drawings and specifications, coordinating with site engineers and project managers, and supporting procurement with accurate quantities and pricing data. The QS Engineer will participate in tender preparation, evaluation of subcontractor offers, and negotiation support, while monitoring actual costs against budgets and reporting variances. This position also requires maintaining organized documentation, ensuring compliance with company standards and contractual requirements, and contributing to timely, on-spec, and on-budget project delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in quantity surveying for construction or fit-out projects, including quantity take-offs, cost estimation, and preparation of bills of quantities.
• Strong skills in budget control, cost tracking, and financial reporting for projects, with the ability to analyze variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts, and to coordinate effectively with engineering, site, and procurement teams.
• High attention to detail, strong numerical and analytical skills, and a structured approach to documentation and record-keeping.
• Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and common quantity surveying / estimation tools; familiarity with AutoCAD or similar software is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture ,Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field; professional certifications in QS or cost management are a plus.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on-site and manage multiple priorities under tight timelines.
• Previous experience in retail, fit-out, or interior construction projects in a contracting environment is highly beneficial.
