Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and serve specialty coffee beverages including espresso-based drinks, pour-overs, cold brews, and signature drinks according to recipe standards.
* Ensure consistency in taste, extraction, presentation, and beverage quality across all orders.
* Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other coffee equipment.
* Dial in espresso and adjust grind size, dose, and extraction parameters as needed.
* Maintain full knowledge of coffee beans, origins, roast profiles, and flavor notes.
* Engage with guests, explain coffee offerings, and provide recommendations based on preferences.
* Deliver high-level customer service and create a welcoming café experience.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the coffee bar, equipment, and service areas at all times.
* Follow opening and closing procedures, including setup, calibration, and cleaning routines.
* Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and consumables, and report shortages.
* Support upselling of beverages, pastries, and seasonal specialty items.
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
* Assist in training junior baristas on basic coffee preparation and service standards.
* Stay updated with specialty coffee trends, brewing methods, and industry innovations.
