Coordination Engineer | Wastewater & Utility Infrastructure | Abu Dhabi, UAE

A leading international engineering and infrastructure consultancy is seeking an experienced Coordination Engineer to join a major wastewater network improvement programme in Abu Dhabi.

This is a client-facing role offering the opportunity to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities, manage stakeholder relationships, and support the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day activities across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Act as the primary point of contact for routine client communications and project coordination.
• Monitor project schedules, deliverables, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
• Coordinate field activities, inspections, investigations, and supervision works.
• Prepare and review project documentation, technical submissions, progress reports, and meeting minutes.
• Support risk management, action tracking, and project controls activities.
• Maintain document control systems and project records.
• Facilitate coordination between technical teams, contractors, and external stakeholders.
• Participate in client meetings and provide project progress updates.
• Support project managers in the delivery of multiple concurrent workstreams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in project coordination, project management, or engineering supervision.
• At least 4 years of experience within water, wastewater, or underground utility infrastructure projects.
• Experience in sewage network rehabilitation, repair, or construction projects is highly preferred.
• Proven experience in client-facing project environments.
• Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, and reporting processes.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Familiarity with contract administration and contractual compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Office and project planning tools such as MS Project.
• Knowledge of GIS-based project tracking systems is an advantage.
• UAE driving licence preferred.
• Excellent English communication skills; Arabic language skills are advantageous.

Work Environment

• Based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• Combination of office-based project coordination and regular site visits.
• Frequent interaction with field teams, contractors, and client representatives.
• Hands-on involvement throughout project delivery and execution phases.
