Automation Software Manager Full Time

CI-SEMI, a division of CI Systems, develops advanced chemical monitoring and metrology solutions for the semiconductor industry, enabling precise real-time control of critical manufacturing processes.

We are seeking an experienced Automation Manager to lead the development, integration, and deployment of PLC-based control systems, industrial communications, HMIs, and data analytics solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical expertise, team management, and customer-facing activities.

The position includes software development, system integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, mentoring engineers, and driving automation innovation for leading semiconductor manufacturers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small team of automation and software engineers, driving technical excellence and best practices.
• Design, develop, and maintain PLC-based control software using Beckhoff TwinCAT3 for advanced semiconductor process monitoring systems.
• Develop and integrate industrial communication protocols, HMI/SCADA applications, sensors, analyzers, and third-party equipment.
• Lead system integration, FAT/SAT, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer support activities at customer sites worldwide.
• Develop data logging, reporting, and analytics solutions using Python and SQL to improve system performance and customer value.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver innovative and reliable automation solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement in software quality, safety, diagnostics, cybersecurity, and system reliability.
• Manage project priorities, technical roadmaps, and successful delivery of new products and customer-specific solutions.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial automation, PLC programming, and control systems development.
• 2+ years of technical leadership, project leadership, or team management experience.
• Strong expertise in Beckhoff TwinCAT3 (Structured Text, Function Blocks, HMI, real-time control); Codesys experience is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Python (required); experience with C/C++ and/or C# is a plus.
• Experience with SQL, industrial data logging, reporting, and system integration.
• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols including EtherCAT, Modbus TCP/RTU, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and OPC-UA.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and other engineering documentation.
• Hands-on experience with system integration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and customer support.
• Experience in semiconductor equipment, wet-process applications, or chemical monitoring systems – a strong advantage.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills with a customer-focused mindset.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel internationally.
