Role Description

We are seeking a Digital Engagement Officer (DEO) for a Public Diplomacy role based in Riyadh. This is a full-time, on-site position. 1-3 years of experience.

The DEO will be responsible for planning, creating, and delivering bilingual digital content across multiple platforms to support public diplomacy, stakeholder engagement, and institutional communications objectives. The role will manage digital channels, maintain website content, support targeted stakeholder outreach, amplify events and research outputs, and provide data-driven insights to strengthen engagement with key audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Content & Editorial Delivery

• Maintain a bilingual content calendar aligned with research publications, events, campaigns, and key moments in Saudi Arabia.
• Draft, edit, and publish platform-ready content across websites, social media, and email channels while ensuring consistency in tone, branding, and accuracy.

Social Media & Community Management

• Manage official digital channels, including scheduling, publishing, monitoring, and audience engagement.
• Support targeted digital campaigns to increase awareness, participation, and engagement, while following established moderation and escalation procedures for sensitive issues.

Website Management

• Maintain and update website content, including publications, events, profiles, and partner information, ensuring a high standard of usability and accuracy.
• Coordinate with developers and technical teams to implement enhancements, resolve issues, and support ongoing website improvements, including basic SEO and accessibility practices.

Stakeholder Targeting & Outreach

• Support digital outreach initiatives targeting priority stakeholder groups, including government and policy actors, academia, media, private sector partners, and international audiences.
• Adapt messaging, formats, and communication approaches according to audience needs and platform requirements.

Email Newsletters & Event Amplification

• Support the development and distribution of bilingual newsletters and targeted email communications.
• Develop digital event promotion materials, including registration campaigns, reminder communications, speaker highlights, and post-event summaries.

Analytics & Reporting

• Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including reach, engagement, website traffic, click-through rates, and event registrations.
• Produce concise monthly reports with insights and recommendations to improve digital performance and audience engagement.

Quality Assurance & Governance

• Ensure all communications follow established approval processes, institutional standards, and reputational safeguards.
• Verify the accuracy of references to partners, senior officials, and sensitive topics, while ensuring proper attribution, image rights compliance, and correct use of titles and organizational names.

Performance Indicators

• Timely delivery of content according to the approved editorial calendar and event amplification plan.
• Growth in meaningful engagement from priority stakeholder segments in Saudi Arabia and internationally.
• Accuracy, relevance, and traffic performance of priority website pages and digital assets.
• Strong performance of email newsletters and audience engagement metrics in line with established communications objectives.
