Technical Engineer – Mechanical Full Time

Responsibilities:

5-10 Years of Experience

Provide technical support to the site execution team through the review, development, and modification of mechanical shop drawings in accordance with project specifications, IFC drawings, coordination requirements, and site conditions.

Perform HVAC engineering calculations and technical reviews, including:

• Cooling and heating load verification.
• Airflow calculations and duct sizing.
• External Static Pressure (ESP) and total static pressure calculations.
• Chilled water pipe sizing and friction loss calculations.
• Pump head calculations and pump selection verification.
• Equipment capacity validation against actual site requirements.

Perform plumbing and public health engineering calculations, including:

• Domestic water demand calculations and pipe sizing.
• Drainage and stormwater network sizing.
• Pump sizing and water storage tank capacity verification.
• Fixture unit calculations and flow rate analysis.

Perform firefighting system engineering calculations, including:

• Hydraulic calculations for sprinkler and hose reel systems.
• Fire pump flow and head verification.
• Pipe sizing in accordance with NFPA, FM, and project requirements.
• System zoning, pressure regulation, and network performance validation.

Review mechanical systems for constructability and installation feasibility, ensuring:

• Adequate ceiling space and builder’s work openings.
• Equipment accessibility and maintenance clearances.
• Proper coordination with structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines.

Coordinate with the BIM team to ensure all shop drawings are fully coordinated, clash-free, and approved prior to site issuance.

Review material submittals, technical datasheets, and equipment selections to ensure compliance with project specifications, design intent, and system calculations.

Prepare, update, and maintain as-built drawings reflecting actual site installations and approved modifications.

Develop technical solutions and value engineering proposals to resolve site constraints, improve constructability, and optimize system performance.

Support the preparation of method statements by providing technical inputs, installation procedures, and system-specific requirements.

Assist QA/QC and Testing & Commissioning (T&C) teams by verifying system parameters, testing requirements, and technical readiness for inspections and commissioning activities.

Ensure all mechanical designs, calculations, shop drawings, and modifications comply with applicable codes and standards, including ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, IPC, UPC, and project-specific requirements.

Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal project teams to resolve technical issues and ensure successful project delivery.
