QHSE Superintendent Full Time

Overview

Astro Offshore is seeking a QHSE Superintendent to support compliance, auditing, certification management, training, and continuous improvement across offshore and marine operations. The role involves coordinating internal and external audits, maintaining maritime certifications, supporting vessel compliance, conducting training and drills, and ensuring the effective closure of audit findings.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a marine, offshore, or QHSE role, a NEBOSH IGC qualification, strong communication and documentation skills, and a solid understanding of maritime safety and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Alternate DPA-Alternate CSO: including support and incident investigation.
• Maintain and update the delegated operational plan for the designation.
• Conduct audits on vessels as per the Audit plan.
• Co-ordinate with Vessels/Office Departments to Conduct timely Internal Audits.
• Co-ordinate with Class to Conduct timely External Audits on Vessels, Office.
• Co-ordinate with Clients to Conduct timely External Audits/Inspections in the Office.
• Auditing of QHSE Dept. by External Party: Lead and provide timely close outs.
• Communicate corrective actions taken for all QHSE external audit/inspection findings.
• Follow up with Vessels/Departments to close out all QHSE internal findings.
• Obtaining ISM-ISPS, MLC, CSR related certifications, approvals for new vessel, takeovers.
• Maintaining Updated ISM-ISPS, MLC, CSR, ISO related certifications, endorsements.
• Preparation of SSA for review by CSO.
• Support to other Astro Departments during audits of Astro suppliers and Service Providers.
• Prepare and actively conduct routine Ship-shore drills with vessels.
• Conduct HSE training, awareness on vessels during routine visits, incl. Campaigns.
• Responsible for Online/In Office induction to new crew/staff members.
• Provide guidance for compiling QHSE Documentation for Business Dev./Clients.
• Responsible for maintaining professional relationships with clients and auditors.
• Assist QHSE Manager with other QHSE related tasks as required.

Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in Marine/Offshore/ QHSE Shore based position: Minimum 3 years
• Valid UAE Driving License
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Good with Microsoft Office 365 applications
• Excellent documentation and record keeping skills
• Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma from a recognized University/Institution
• Certification in HSE from a reputed organization (Minimum: NEBOSH IGC)
