About the Job
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Deep Tech Program Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of strategic initiatives across emerging technology domains. The successful candidate will help shape and manage programs at the intersection of science, technology, and innovation, translating complex technical opportunities into practical, scalable, and high-impact outcomes. This is a hands-on role working closely with researchers, engineers, product teams, partner institutions, and communications teams to build intellectually strong, well-coordinated, and future-focused programs.
Responsibilities
Lead research and concept development for programs and initiatives involving deep tech and emerging technologies.
Identify, commission and cultivate relationships with researchers, engineers, technologists, labs, and strategic partners.
Produce program briefs, technical notes, presentations, reports, and other supporting materials that communicate complex topics clearly.
Develop project timelines, delivery briefs, and coordinate implementation with technical teams and vendors.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and supplier/contractor relationships.
Organize accompanying workshops, demos, training sessions, and educational materials.
Liaise with scientific and technical partners to ensure accurate, ethical, and effective delivery of initiatives; arrange access to data, prototypes, or environments as required.
Oversee documentation, testing records, and archival notes for each project or initiative.
Support fundraising and proposal applications by preparing research summaries and recommendations.
Monitor stakeholder feedback and research impact; refine strategies to increase accessibility, adoption, and engagement.
Qualifications
Minimum BA/MA in Engineering, Computer Science, Science, Business, Innovation Studies, or a related field; PhD or equivalent research experience preferred.
At least 3–5 years of experience in deep tech, innovation, research, consulting, or program management in a technology company, startup, consultancy, lab, or equivalent professional setting.
Demonstrable interest in and familiarity with deep tech topics such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, IoT, extended reality, quantum computing, or related frontier domains — deep technical expertise is not required, but proven ability to learn and collaborate with technical teams is essential.
Strong research, writing and editorial skills — able to produce clear, engaging technical and business-facing texts and funding materials.
Project management experience: budgets, timelines, supplier coordination and logistics.
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience building cross-disciplinary collaborations between researchers, engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders.
Experience programming workshops, demos, training sessions, or education activities.
Commitment to accessible presentation and ethical engagement with science and technology content.
Portfolio or track record of deep tech projects, programs, prototypes, or related work (links or PDF).
Fluency in English; additional languages an asset.
What We Offer
The opportunity to shape a high-visibility, interdisciplinary deep tech program.
A collaborative team of designers, producers, researchers and communications specialists.
Competitive compensation and project-related resources (production budget, research funds).
Support for travel and research visits to partner teams and institutions.
Professional development and publication opportunities.
