I am writing to express my strong interest in the Faculty Position in Environmental Sciences and Sustainability at the American University of Sharjah (AUS). With a recently completed PhD in Environmental Radioactivity (2025), 19 peer-reviewed publications, and hands-on expertise in radiological risk assessment, environmental monitoring, and GIS-based spatial modeling, I am confident in my ability to contribute meaningfully to AUS’s academic mission and its growing MSc in Environmental Sustainability and Management (MSc-ENS) program.

**Research Excellence**

My doctoral research at the Unit of Research in Radiation Biology & Environmental Radioactivity, The New College (University of Madras), focused on site-specific transfer factor estimation of heavy metals and radionuclides in Natural High Background Radiation Areas (NHBRA). This work pioneered integrated GIS-statistical frameworks for quantifying human health risk indices — including Excess Lifetime Cancer Risk (ELCR), Annual Effective Dose (AED), and Committed Effective Dose (CED) — published in high-impact journals such as *Science of The Total Environment* and *Journal of Hazardous Materials*. With 174 citations, an h-index of 6, and a cumulative impact factor of ±68, my research record reflects sustained scientific productivity and international recognition.

**Teaching and Mentorship**

I am passionate about environmental education and have actively mentored graduate students in research planning, data analysis, and scientific writing. My interdisciplinary background — spanning radioecology, aquatic toxicology, environmental impact assessment, and ecological risk analysis — positions me well to teach both foundational environmental science courses and advanced graduate-level modules aligned with AUS’s sustainability curriculum.

AUS’s commitment to advancing the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and fostering interdisciplinary research deeply resonates with my own professional values. I am eager to contribute to the development of the MSc-ENS program, particularly in areas of environmental contamination, radiological health risk, coastal ecosystem monitoring, and climate-contaminant interactions — topics highly relevant to the UAE’s environmental sustainability agenda and Net Zero 2050 strategy.
