Role Overview
As a Senior Proposal Engineer at EnerSys, you will play a critical role in our growth strategy by leading the development of high-impact, winning proposals for our global energy storage and power solution clients. You will work at the intersection of Regional Sales, Technical Engineering, and Business Development to translate complex requirements into compelling, customer-centric bids.
Beyond managing individual tenders, you will be a key contributor to the EnerSys Bid Excellence framework continuously improving the people, processes, and digital tools that define how we win in the marketplace.
Strategic Capture and Governance
– Implement and facilitate the capture planning process to ensure a deep understanding of customer “hot buttons” and competitive landscapes.
– Lead Go/No-Go calls and risk assessment sessions to ensure all opportunities align with EnerSys’ commercial and technical capabilities.
– Facilitate strategy workshops to develop clear win themes and value propositions that differentiate our technology.
– Initiate and drive the risk categorization tool for all major industrial bids.
Proposal Lifecycle Management
– Create and maintain a comprehensive Bid/Proposal Management Plan, ensuring all internal stakeholders meet critical milestones.
– Develop compliance matrices and storyboard templates to ensure 100% alignment with client RFP/tender requirements.
– Manage client procurement portals and CRM tools to track bid status and maintain data integrity.
– Review and approve responses for standard prequalification questions (PQQ) and check responses from JV partners where applicable.
Technical and Visual Coordination
– Coordinate with Bid Coordinators on graphics, document covers, and visual data (charts/graphs) to ensure a professional EnerSys brand presence.
– Work closely with Technical Leads to develop and refine staff CVs, technical case studies, and evidence-based success stories.
– Apply knowledgeable quality control and standard procedures to the coordination of proposals which are of critical importance to the firm.
– Lead the final proofread, compliance check, and quality review of all tender documents post-formatting.
Continuous Improvement
– Lead “Lessons Learned” feedback sessions to identify areas for process improvement and disseminate best practices across the global team.
– Prepare and coach sales teams for client interviews and final presentations.
– Support the development of preparation for Stage-gate reviews to ensure executive alignment.
– Contribute to the evolution of win-work tools, information governance, and standard operating procedures.
Experience and Qualifications
– Proven experience in managing complex technical bids within the energy, engineering, or industrial technology sectors.
– Strong ability to facilitate technical workshops and extract “Value Propositions” from engineering teams.
– Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple high-pressure deadlines simultaneously.
– Strong technical writing and editing skills with a sharp eye for detail and document aesthetics.
– Knowledge of CRM tools and digital procurement portals.
