About role:

As the Customs Clearance Manager for JD Logistics in Dammam, you will lead and oversee the creation of timely, accurate, and legally compliant customs clearance declarations for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). You will manage complex entries, mitigate financial and legal exposure, and drive strategic compliance across major KSA regulatory platforms (Fasah, SABER, Bayan). This role requires a Saudi National with strong local authority networks to ensure critical service deadlines are met.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Regulatory Mastery: Maintain and apply deep, up-to-date knowledge of GCC/KSA Customs laws and trade regulations to protect JD Logistics and client interests.
• Declaration Management: Review shipment data, identify exact regulatory requirements, determine the most appropriate entry types, and execute complex pre-arrival and standard declarations.
• Platform & Authority Coordination: Drive end-to-end clearance operations through Fasah, SABER, and Bayan. Coordinate direct approvals with government bodies including SFDA, CITC, GACA, and customs border points.
• Financial & Compliance Protection: Ensure precise declaration of goods, local classifications, and valuation rules to prevent duty/tax errors. Strictly abide by and enforce FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) guidelines.
• Dispute & Escalation Resolution: Resolve routine customs disputes, draft justifications, manage entry corrections, and process refunds or credit notes while initiating corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
• Client & Audit Management: Advise clients on alternative clearance solutions to build long-term relationships. Maintain ironclad, audit-ready physical and digital transaction records.
• On-Ground Operations: Oversee physical cargo inspections, paperwork verification, and scan compliance at the port/border to eliminate demurrage and customs holds.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years of hands-on KSA customs clearance experience within a Freight Forwarding, Express Courier, 3PL, or Customs Brokerage environment.
• System Expertise: Proven, practical experience operating Fasah, SABER, and Bayan for live import/export declarations.
• Technical Skills: Advanced working knowledge of the GCC / KSA Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HS Classification, valuation rules, and origin determination).
• Pre-Declaration Track Record: Demonstrated success in executing pre-arrival declarations to successfully eliminate port delays and demurrage costs.
• Languages: Full professional proficiency in both Arabic and English (written and spoken) to negotiate with local authorities and align with global business stakeholders.
