Job Title: Fiber Network Planning Expert

Job Location: Sulaymaniyah – Iraq

Job Purpose:

Actively participating in Fiber Network Planning activities including but not limited, network Planning & Design, Network Optimization, Fiber Projects and Reporting to management, Growth and Knowledge sharing and being a responsible team player.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Network Planning & Design

• Planning high level and Designing Low Level Network Plans to facilitate Transport network
• Designing of Fiber Active Network technologies including but not limited to SDH, DWDM, OTN, Layer -2/Layer 3 IP Metro considering multi-vendor.
• Designating of Fiber OSP Network including but not limited to Buried, Duct-Buried and Aerial physical network.
• Generating OSP Design Files, in GIS tools including but not limited to Google Earth, AUTOCAD etc.
• Generating ODF Plans, Fiber core assignment and network expansion plans
• Generating Capacity Plans to facilitate internal customers on SDH, DWDM and IP nodes.
• Generating yearly Fiber nodes requirements considering Traffic requirement from the network
• Expanding Metro Fiber footprint considering FTTx solutions.
• Making sure the implementation of Planned OSP Standards including but not limited to Civil works (Trenching, Micro/Mini Trenching, Ducts, able standards, ODFs, Manholes etc.)
• Capacity Planning and Management of Active and Passive elements.
• Creating Change Requests for network integration.
• Take active part in network shuffling and changes activities
• Efficient Reporting explaining Network evolution plans and roadmap
• Reporting Design strengths and weakness and its related mitigation
• Active coordination with Local Internet service providers to implement leased lines.
• Taking initiative to reduce OPEX of leased lines.
• Regular audit of leased lines

Departmental coordination and communication

• Ensure smooth communication between management, team and other departments.

• Knowledge sharing and transfer to fellow team members.

Requirements:

Experience in Telecoms Industry-Especially Fiber Transmission (More than 8 years).

Advanced Knowledge of SDH, DWDM, OTN, Layer -2/Layer 3 IP Metro and FTTx.

Advanced Knowledge of OSP Network including but not limited to Buried, Duct-Buried and Aerial physical network.

Advanced Knowledge of OSP Standards including but not limited to Civil works (Trenching, Micro/Mini Trenching, Ducts, Cable standards, ODFs, Manholes etc.)

Advanced Computer skill including MS PowerPoint, word, excel and projects.

Advanced Knowledge of software planning tools i.e., MapInfo, Google Earth

Advanced Knowledge of use of EMS, NMS and Design tools.
