Job Purpose
To lead, develop, and implement the organization’s environmental strategy, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards, promoting sustainability, and minimizing environmental risks to support safe and responsible operations.
Principal Accountabilities
Adhere to organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance and maintain a productive work environment. Implement and uphold safety and security protocols to protect employees and company assets. Develop and implement the company-wide environmental management strategy aligned with legal, regulatory, and sustainability goals. Ensure compliance with environmental laws and standards (EIA, air quality, wastewater discharge, waste handling). Oversee environmental audits, inspections, and monitoring activities, and report findings to management and authorities. Promote sustainability initiatives such as resource efficiency, renewable energy, and emission reduction. Identify environmental risks and develop mitigation plans. Conduct environmental training and awareness programs. Coordinate with government bodies, communities, and NGOs. Lead investigations of environmental incidents and implement corrective actions. Perform additional duties as required.
Required Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, or related field.
Other Requirements
Certifications such as ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, LEED, or similar are a plus.
Experience
9–10 years of total experience, including at least 4 years in a managerial or leadership role in Environmental Management.
