Role Description

Location: Cairo, Egypt (Design Extension Office for a Qatari Consultancy)

Role Overview: We are looking for a talented Senior HVAC Design Engineer with 7-10 years of experience to join our mechanical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of junior engineers and draftsmen, while working under the direct supervision of the Lead HVAC Engineer. This role requires a blend of high-level technical design production and effective team coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Supervision: Acting as a mentor and supervisor for a small group of junior designers, ensuring their tasks are completed accurately and within the project timeline.

• Design Production: Developing detailed HVAC designs, from load calculations to equipment selection and final layouts, for a variety of project types (Residential, Commercial, and Infrastructure).

• Technical Support: Providing technical guidance to the team and assisting the Lead Engineer in developing design strategies and system selections.

• Design Review: Reviewing the work of junior engineers and draftsmen to ensure compliance with office standards and project-specific requirements before final submission.

• Technical Coordination: Leading the technical coordination with Architectural and Structural departments to ensure duct/pipe routes are feasible and clear of any structural or spatial constraints.

Technical Requirements & Qualifications:

• Experience: 7–10 years of solid experience in HVAC Design, preferably within a consultancy environment.

• Software Proficiency: Expert-level mastery of Carrier HAP and AutoCAD is mandatory.

• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of Psychrometrics, air distribution, chilled water systems, and VRF technology.

• Codes & Standards: Strong working knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, and NFPA codes.

Preferred Skills:

• Qatar Experience: Prior experience working on projects located in Qatar or familiarity with QCS (Qatar Construction Specifications).

• Communication: Excellent communication skills in English to facilitate coordination between the Cairo team and the Qatar headquarters.

• Reliability: Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality outputs.

• • Authority Knowledge: Basic understanding of KAHRAMAA and QCDD requirements for mechanical services.
