Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

About the Job:
To design, develop, and oversee the installation and maintenance of Mechanical systems and equipment that meet project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. Mechanical Engineer ensures the efficient, safe, and reliable operation of Mechanical infrastructures by applying technical expertise, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and adhering to industry codes and regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
Main duties & responsibilities:
Design Mechanical Systems
- Develop mechanical system designs and plans for projects, ensuring compliance with client requirements, applicable standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Prepare Technical Drawings and Specifications
- Create accurate mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications using CAD or other specialized engineering software.
Conduct Standard Calculations and System Analysis
- Perform mechanical calculations, system sizing, and performance analysis to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation.
Review Project Requirements and Documentation
- Analyze project specifications, client needs, and regulatory frameworks to propose suitable mechanical solutions.
Coordinate with Project Teams
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within overall project designs.
Supervise Installation and Commissioning
- Support and oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems, ensuring alignment with design intent and safety standards.
Perform Site Inspections and Quality Checks
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, verify compliance with technical specifications, and address on-site engineering issues.
Troubleshoot Mechanical Systems
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues related to mechanical systems and equipment during installation, testing, and operational phases.
Ensure Compliance with Safety Standards
- Promote and enforce adherence to mechanical safety codes, health regulations, and industry best practices.
Prepare Reports and Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of design modifications, test results, and maintenance procedures; prepare progress, technical, and final project reports.
Manage Procurement and Vendor Coordination
- Assist in the selection of mechanical equipment and materials, liaising with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality standards and timely delivery.
Stay Updated with Industry Developments
- Continuously update knowledge on emerging technologies, industry codes, and standards to improve efficiency and enhance project quality.
Submit Weekly Progress Reports
- Compile and present weekly progress reports to the Head of the Projects Department, detailing accomplishments, challenges, and next steps.
Other Related Duties
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management to support project objectives and organizational goals.
Required Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field from a recognized university.
- 0–5 years of relevant experience in electrical and/or mechanical engineering projects, including design, installation, testing, and maintenance.
- Proficiency in engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ETAP, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, standards, and regulations.
- Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
- Competence in performing system calculations, analysis, and troubleshooting for both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication, teamwork, and coordination abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Willingness to work on-site and travel to project locations as required.
