We are looking for a Senior / Lead Game Designer to join our game development team and take ownership of the design direction for our upcoming mobile multiplayer strategy game.
Our project is a Clash-style mobile strategy game, inspired by successful titles such as Clash of Clans, Top Heroes, Rise of Kingdoms, Whiteout Survival, Kingshot, and similar midcore F2P strategy games.
The ideal candidate must have strong experience in mobile free-to-play game design, especially in systems-heavy games involving base building, heroes, PvP, alliances, upgrades, progression, economy, live-ops, events, and long-term player retention.
This role is suitable for someone who can lead the design vision, structure the full game systems, guide junior designers, and work closely with developers, artists, UI/UX, backend engineers, and production to build a scalable and competitive mobile strategy game.
Responsibilities
Define and own the core game design vision, gameplay loops, and meta-game systems.
Design and structure base-building systems, hero systems, troop/unit systems, upgrade paths, progression, economy, rewards, and resource sinks.
Build and balance PvP systems, matchmaking concepts, alliances/guild systems, events, quests, rankings, leagues, and live-ops features.
Design systems suitable for a long-term mobile strategy game, including daily retention loops, battle passes, seasonal events, offers, rewards, and progression pacing.
Create clear GDDs, feature specs, wireframes, flowcharts, economy sheets, balancing sheets, and system documentation.
Analyze competitor games such as Clash of Clans, Top Heroes, Rise of Kingdoms, Whiteout Survival, Kingshot, and identify strong features suitable for our project.
Work closely with Unity developers, backend/server engineers, artists, UI/UX designers, and producers to turn design concepts into production-ready features.
Guide, review, and mentor junior/mid-level designers.
Use player behavior, KPIs, analytics, and live data to improve retention, engagement, monetization, and balancing.
Support roadmap planning, feature prioritization, sprint planning, and delivery of design-ready features.
Requirements
5+ years of professional game design experience.
Strong experience with mobile F2P systems design, including economy, progression, monetization, live-ops, and retention.
Previous experience in strategy, PvP, RPG, hero-based, base-building, kingdom-building, or midcore mobile games is highly preferred.
Ability to design complex systems from concept to implementation.
Strong understanding of core loops, meta loops, upgrade systems, resource economies, reward balancing, FTUE, battle passes, events, offers, and player progression.
Experience creating professional documentation using tools such as Google Sheets, Figma, Miro, Notion, Jira, Confluence, or similar.
Ability to create economy simulations, balancing sheets, and clear system logic for developers.
Experience leading or mentoring other game designers.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have
Experience with games similar to Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, Top Heroes, Rise of Kingdoms, Whiteout Survival, Kingshot, or similar mobile strategy titles.
Understanding of server-authoritative multiplayer systems, PvP validation, live services, and backend-connected game features.
Experience with live balancing, remote config, A/B testing, analytics, economy simulations, and live-ops calendars.
Unity knowledge is a plus.
Experience designing alliances, guild systems, hero collection, base upgrades, PvP rankings, seasonal events, and monetization systems.
