Job Summary:

The Senior ID / Fit-Out Engineer will lead the inspection, supervision, and coordination of all Interior Design (ID) and Architectural Fit-Out works on site, operating as a key member within the Construction Supervision Consultant (CSC) team.

The role is responsible for ensuring that all fit-out works—including high-end finishes, joinery, FF&E, and architectural detailing—are executed in full compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and applicable standards, while achieving the highest levels of quality, safety, and timely delivery.

The position also involves mentoring junior engineers and inspectors, managing complex coordination issues, and acting as a focal point between the contractor, design team, PMC, and Client.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee architectural and interior fit-out activities across assigned zones or packages.
• Ensure compliance of fit-out works with approved shop drawings, specifications, material submittals, mock-ups, and contract documents.
• Conduct and supervise detailed inspections of finishes, joinery, decorative elements, FF&E, and high-end architectural components.
• Review and validate shop drawings, coordination drawings, and material submittals for ID and architectural works prior to execution.
• Manage and coordinate interfaces between ID, Architectural, and MEP works to ensure seamless integration of services.
• Monitor and enforce high-quality workmanship standards, particularly for premium and heritage finishes.
• Lead mock-up reviews and approvals, ensuring alignment with design intent and quality expectations.
• Identify, document, and manage non-conformances (NCRs), site observation reports (SORs), and quality issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Provide technical guidance and support to contractors, subcontractors, and junior site staff.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and inspectors, ensuring consistency in inspection standards and reporting.
• Monitor progress of fit-out activities against project schedules and proactively address delays or risks.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and best practices during fit-out works.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, PMC, Client representatives, and design teams to resolve technical and quality-related challenges.
• Review daily inspection reports, site logs, and quality documentation prepared by the team.
• Lead snagging, de-snagging, and final inspection processes for handover readiness.
• Support testing, commissioning, and final handover of interior spaces in line with project requirements.

Key Qualifications:

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Architectural Engineering. An advanced degree is considered an advantage.

Professional Experience:

• Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Architectural and Interior Fit-Out inspection and supervision.
• Minimum 7+ years of experience within the GCC region.
• Proven experience on large-scale, high-end, or heritage projects is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in leading fit-out teams within a Construction Supervision Consultant (CSC) environment.

Technical Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of interior fit-out systems, finishes, materials, joinery, and FF&E installation.
• Strong expertise in reviewing shop drawings, coordination drawings, and material submittals.
• In-depth understanding of construction detailing and premium finishing standards.
• Strong coordination capabilities across Architectural, ID, and MEP disciplines.
• Familiarity with LEED requirements and sustainable construction practices.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit is mandatory.
• Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and project management/reporting tools.
