Overview:
As the Academy Head of Medical Services at Al-Qadsiah Club, you will lead the delivery of medical care across the Academy. You will ensure the highest standards of player health, wellbeing, and safeguarding, while providing expert medical guidance to players and staff. You will oversee medical operations, drive best practice, and align all medical provision with the club’s performance objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management
Lead the delivery of all Academy medical services in collaboration with the Academy Technical Director and Head of Medical Services
Develop and implement an Academy Medical Framework, ensuring player health, wellbeing, and safeguarding
Oversee medical department operations, including clinic management, equipment, and supplies
Design and supervise the work of all Academy medical staff, providing guidance and leadership
Establish and refine medical processes, reporting structures, and communication systems
Medical Assessments and Interventions
Assess, diagnose, and manage musculoskeletal injuries and health-related conditions affecting Academy players
Interpret medical imaging including X-rays, CT scans, and MRI to support clinical decisions
Deliver medical screenings and ongoing health assessments for all Academy players
Provide immediate medical care during training and matches
Develop and implement injury prevention strategies and protocols
Coordinate hospital referrals and ensure appropriate medical interventions
Collaboration
Work closely with Academy and club departments to maintain a safe and high-performance environment
Communicate effectively with players and their families on medical matters
Act as a key liaison with external medical professionals and specialists
Operational and Professional Standards
Support Heads of Department on internal matters where required
Ensure all medical staff meet CPD requirements and maintain professional standards
Deliver additional responsibilities as required by senior leadership
Qualifications
Desirable:
Master’s degree in Sports Science, Medicine, or a related field
PhD in Sports Science, Medicine, or a related field
Specialisation in areas such as rehabilitation, orthopaedics, sports science, physiotherapy, radiology, or biomechanics
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
Extensive experience in a medical role within a professional sports environment, ideally football
Strong background in diagnosing, treating, and preventing sports-related injuries
Experience leading and managing multidisciplinary medical teams
Expertise in rehabilitation and return-to-play protocols
Experience working with elite athletes and understanding the demands of professional football
Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments
Formal training and experience in diagnostic procedures, including ultrasound-guided techniques
Desirable:
Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East
Multilingual capability, including English, Spanish, or Arabic
