Lead Engineer, Smart City Systems Full Time NEW

Job Purpose:

The Lead Smart City Systems Engineer leads the planning, design, coordination, and implementation of Smart City systems and digital infrastructure across development projects. The role is responsible for driving the integration of ICT/ELV networks, IoT platforms, and smart urban technologies within the built environment to deliver connected, efficient, and sustainable developments.

Job Responsibilities:

• Technical Review & Design Assurance

1. Support the review and evaluation of Smart City system designs, drawings, specifications, studies, and technical submissions prepared by consultants and vendors.
2. Verify compliance with approved technical standards, Smart City strategies, reference architectures, project requirements, and defined performance criteria.
3. Identify design gaps, technical issues, and coordination conflicts, and support resolution with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

• Systems Integration & Coordination

1. Support system‑integration activities across multiple disciplines, including utilities, buildings, public‑realm assets, and city‑level platforms.
2. Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings, system‑integration workshops, technical reviews, and design coordination forums.
3. Assist in managing interfaces between Smart City systems, other engineering disciplines, and operational systems to ensure end‑to‑end integration and alignment.

• Standards, Compliance & Governance

1. Support adherence to applicable national and international standards, regulatory requirements, authority guidelines, and approved governance frameworks.
2. Assist in applying cybersecurity, data governance, privacy, and digital‑resilience requirements within Smart City system designs and documentation.
3. Ensure compliance with HSE requirements related to design, coordination, and implementation activities.

• Implementation Support & Monitoring

1. Support Smart City system implementation readiness and assist in tracking technical deliverables, milestones, issues, and readiness across all project phases to support timely delivery.

• Documentation, Reporting & QA/QC

1. Prepare and maintain technical documentation, review comments, meeting minutes, coordination records, action trackers, and progress updates.
2. Support technical inputs for dashboards, reports, and governance reviews, including maintaining Smart City issue and risk logs.
3. Support QA/QC activities by conducting technical checks and reviews in line with approved standards, procedures, and quality requirements.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or any related field.
• Minimum of 5 Years of related experience.
